Disobedient Objects (ongoing)

As Ernst Bloch wrote that “we know only the front or right side of their technical subservience”, things become alive when it shows their wrong side. These objects have emerged from the rift between the digital world and their physical counterpart.

The g-code is generated with computation yet the precision is compromised with a tiny corporeal variable at the beginning of the printing process, failing it to stick onto the printing platform. The form is a visualization of a chaotic exponential accumulation.

Machines become alive when they resist and disobey. My (reclaimed) 3d printer is no longer instrumental.
